Feeling Lonely

In a world more connected than ever, loneliness remains an unwelcome companion for many. Even though the world has become smaller because of the digital threads weaving through our lives, the sense of isolation tends to persist. I know it’s easier said than done to reach out to people but I guess we need to find a way to bridge the gap between isolation and belonging.

Recognising loneliness as a shared experience can be the first step towards a more connected life. It’s not uncommon for others to feel the same way, and acknowledging this common thread can pave the way for meaningful connections. I am constantly looking for new connections.

My life has changed so much over the past few years and I find myself feeling more and more alone even though a whole world of potential is often held in the palm of my hand. Technology, for all its isolating potential, can also be a bridge to companionship. Virtual communities, social media groups, and online forums provide spaces where like-minded individuals can come together, fostering a sense of belonging. I haven’t had much luck yet in making life-long friends online but I have found a sense of community through social media. I think we all have to stay open minded, try new things and different platforms. There are so many beautiful, magical humans out there looking for the same things. We all need friends and companionship.

Loneliness is not a permanent state; it’s a passing cloud in the vast sky of human experience. A lesson that I have been trying to learn over the years is how to be alone and even though I am open to learning how to lean on myself and find comfort in myself…. I do miss having someone else to spend time with. So be open to the reality of being alone and the huge benefits of finding comfort in yourself but don’t give up on finding the people that are meant to be in your life.
